Girl Scouts

Trinity UMC is the home of Girl Scout Troop 7920 of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Inc. This vibrant troop has grown to more than 50 girls involved in fellowship, fun, and community service for the girls, their leaders, and parent volunteers!  The troop includes Daisies for kindergarten and First grade, Brownies for Second and Third grades, and Juniors for Third and Fourth grades.. A Cadet program is being added for Fifth and Sixth grades.

Weekly meetings are held on Tuesday at two time slots -- from 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. and from 3:55 p.m. to 5:55 p.m.

Girl Scout Troop 7920 has been very involved in community service projects including a clothing drive, two nursing home projects, meal preparation for the Porter Street Homeless Shelter, handmade Hospital/Visitation Cards for the Pastor, Toiletry Kits for the MUST Ministries' Elizabeth Inn Emergency Shelter, preparation of two Trinity Wednesday Night Suppers, a canned food drive, and parent-directed, family-oriented Thanksgiving and Christmas community service projects.

Fun and engaging activities for the troop have included an American Girl Doll Craft Party, an indoor picnic, a Juliette Lowe Birthday Celebration & Scavenger Hunt, and a night at the movies. Troop 7920 attended a very special Grandmother, Mother & Daughter Tea Party at Cartersville Country Club, and hosted a Bring a Friend to Girl Scouts Day, a Mommy and Me creative project, and a Family Story project.

Of course, Troop 7920 participates in both the Girl Scout Fall Product and Candy sale, as well as the well renowned Girl Scout Cookie Sale. A portion of the proceeds from both sales help fund Troop 7920's community service projects.
