Northwest GA Council, BSAScout Units Chartered by Trinity United Methodist Church, Cartersville, Georgia Northwest Georgia Council, BSA There are 158 Packs and Troops in the NW GA Council serving about 4,000 boys. This is only about 2-3% of the eligible boys in this council. The Council is divided into three Districts:
Our District, Sequoyah has about 20 Packs and 20 Troops.
Cub Scout Pack 15, Sequoyah District, Northwest Georgia Council, BSAWe are the biggest of the Council. The Pack serves approximately 150 boys ages 6 to 10, assisted by 29 trained Adult Volunteers. Three of the adults are currently undergoing Wood Badge, the highest level adult leader training available. Three adults have completed their Wood Badge and also contribute time to the District. Fun:

April 25 Webelos Scouts ‘crossovered' or were graduated. Most of those Cubs will likely join Tom Farmer's Troop 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pack budget exceeds $30,000. Funding comes mostly from selling of Popcorn each year around early November. Boy Scout Troop 15, Sequoyah District, Northwest Georgia Council, BSA Troop 15 is home to about 46 boys and 7 Adult volunteers. Many more adults serve as part of the Troop Committee. A total of 8 Boy Scouts have achieved the coveted Eagle rank since the troop began. One Boy Scout was awarded Eagle Rank in 2010. Three more have had their Eagle projects approved and are nearly complete. We expect 7 more Scouts to earn Eagle this year. Scoutmaster Tom Farmer offers the following stats: Miles Hiked - 7456 Nights Camped - 3537 (That's the equivalent of about 66 nights per person per year.) Service Hours - 1794 Troop 15 went to Camp Thunder in Albany for summer camp in 2010 and expect to visit Philmont in 2011. Troop budget exceeds $800 per Scout. Funding comes mostly from the sale of Pine Straw bales in the Spring each year. |
